Aston Barclay has appointed former Inchcape UK used car director Cliff Deller as its group remarketing director.

Deller (pictured) joins Aston Barclay after 32 years working for Inchcape Retail and Inchcape Fleet Solutions where he was responsible for purchasing and disposing of around 60,000 used cars each year.

He will be working across all parts of the Aston Barclay group to provide support and advice to colleagues to maximise the performance of vendor remarketing programmes.

Deller said: “I am very excited about joining Aston Barclay’s senior management team and to be able bring my wealth of knowledge and experience to the business.

“Aston Barclay is a progressive forward-thinking organisation whose digital strategy is transforming the UK remarketing industry.”

His first project has been to work as part of the acquisition team that has seen Aston Barclay acquire The Car Buying Group (TCBG).

He is being tasked with integrating TCBG’s remarketing function, which currently handles 10,000 vehicles a year, with Aston Barclay’s processes and systems, and to launch a market leading auction proposition to optimise disposal values and further reduce stocking days of TCBG used cars.

Aston Barclay’s chief executive Neil Hodson said: “I’m really pleased to welcome Cliff to our team. His decades of experience will be invaluable in supporting both our vendors and our internal colleagues.

"He provides a unique perspective for Aston Barclay having worked across the franchised dealer, OEM and leasing sectors.”
