A 64-year-old man has been arrested after video showing the scene of the fatal crash involving Simon Hill and his son Harry from Total Motion was shared on social media.

Simon Hill (pictured), group managing director of Total Motion, and his son Harry, who was head of fleet at the vehicle leasing and fleet management company were killed in a crash on the A50 on Sunday, April 16

The two men, who were in a Bentley Bentayga which left the carriageway and struck a bridge pillar on the A50 in Derbyshire, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Simon Hill was well-known in the fleet sector having founded the vehicle leasing and fleet management company Total Motion in 1999.

The business, which is based in Leicestershire, was ranked 21st in last year’s FN50,  with a risk fleet of 10,116 cars and vans.

Police said that a 64-year-old man from Burton-on-Trent has been arrested on suspicion of malicious communications and harassment.

He has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detective Constable Trish Siddall-Hart, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We ask that members of the public do not take or share images and footage following serious and fatal collisions such as this as it causes the families involved further distress.

“We treat these matters very seriously and will always endeavour to identify anyone involved in this type of behaviour.”
