Quest Waste Management has chosen the Toyota Corolla Commercial van to join its fleet as it switches from diesel-powered vehicles to hybrid electric technology.

Based in Wakefield, the drainage, waste and utility specialist, operates from depots in Yorkshire, the Midlands and north-west and north-east England, serving domestic and commercial customers across a range of sectors.

The three Corolla Commercial vans are being used by sales and emergency response teams providing on-site support across the country.

The new vehicles feature Chapter 8 livery and LED beacon systems for safe UK highway access and compliance for site visits.

Nick Rushworth, Quest Operations director, said: “As part of our environmentally conscious business strategy, we are striving to reduce CO2 emissions across our vehicle fleet.

“The hybrid electric Toyota Corolla Commercial not only helps us in this objective but also provides our teams with the practicality of a van based on a car design.”

He added: “These vehicles stand out with their fuel efficiency, impressive driving performance, and streamlined design featuring our company colours.

“They also provide sufficient space to accommodate the essential tools and equipment needed for on-site operations.”

The Toyota Corolla Commercial is manufactured at Toyota’s vehicle plant in Derby and uses fifth generation 1.8-litre petrol electric hybrid technology.

Available in a single well-equipped version and fitted as standard with the latest Toyota Safety Sense active safety and driver assistance systems, it has a 1,326-litre loadspace.
