Sussex Police has appointed Drivetech as its sole suppllier to deliver driver offender re-education courses.

The company, which already delivers courses under the National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme (NDORS) for multiple forces, will now operate as the exclusive provider for Sussex.

Drivetech started delivering the training for Sussex from May this year.

The agreement adds to Drivetech’s growing footprint in the UK and follows the recent retention of its Metropolitan Police framework contract, which also covers eight other regional forces.

Earlier this year, Drivetech also retained its contract with Merseyside Police for NDORS course provision.

The NDORS programme is designed to promote safer driving behaviour and reduce reoffending by offering educational alternatives to prosecution for certain driving offences.

Roger Ison, logistics and police relationship manager at Drivetech, said the Sussex award reflects confidence in the company’s course delivery and long-standing experience in the sector.

He said: “This decision reinforces the quality of our training and the efforts of our delivery teams.

“Education plays a vital role in shaping driver behaviour and in many cases proves more effective than fines or penalties.

“Our goal is to help drivers make better choices, and this contract enables us to support that mission more widely across Sussex.”

Drivetech, part of the AA, delivers NDORS courses to more than 500,000 drivers annually.
