Mercedes-Benz launched the all-new Vito Taxi in London today, priced from £168 per week with no deposit.

It promises unrivalled levels of space and refinement for the driver and up to six passengers, as well as being fully-wheelchair accessible.

A low-emission 114CDI euro 6 engine powers the new model, offering 136PS, in conjunction with a seven-speed automatic gearbox.

“We know that the London taxi fraternity has been waiting in anticipation for us to bring the new Vito Taxi to market – our previous cab took the industry by storm and has sold in excess of 3,000 units since its launch in 2008,” said Steve Bridge, managing director of Mercedes-Benz Vans.

The London-specific Vito Taxi comes with a compact body length and incorporates a rear steering axle that allows it to meet the 25ft turning circle rule as prescribed by the Public Carriage Office, so it can execute a U-turn in London’s congested streets.

Standard equipment includes an engine start-stop function, air conditioning, electric folding mirrors, electrically operated sliding doors on both sides and an electrical nearside and off-side step.

Buyers will also benefit from a three-year unlimited mile warranty, 24,000 mile service intervals and MobiloVan roadside assistance.
