Guest Truck and Van has become the first dealer to sell an Iveco Daily RDE Blue Power van, which complies with EU 2020 climate and energy targets.

The latest Euro 6 regulations set higher emissions standards, with the permitted level of nitrogen oxide for diesel vehicles dropping to a maximum of 80mg/km, which is 90% lower than the Euro 1 levels which were introduced in 1992.

The Daily RDE Blue Power was sold to MTec, an international logistics provider which offers bespoke solutions for art handling, installation and transportation

The vehicle has been fitted with transport refrigeration by Coldstart, commercial refrigeration specialists in Nottingham, to ensure artwork is transported at optimum temperatures of approximately 20°c.

Bal Singh, key account director for Guest Truck and Van, said as more van owners look to move over to more sustainable and efficient models in the next two years, Guest was keen to add the Daily RDE to its vehicle schedule.

He said: “Improving air quality is rightly high on the Government’s agenda and we recognise that the Iveco Daily RDE Blue Power van is an industry leader, which is why we were the first dealer in the country to ensure that this was on offer for our customers straight away.

“We were pleased to have secured our first order for this revolutionary van so quickly and I’m confident we will soon be filling up our order books for this LCV.”

David Williams, managing director for MTec, added: “With the new regulations due to be implemented in the next couple of years, we wanted a sustainable vehicle that was RDE ready and fuel efficient at the same time.

“We now have circa 10 Iveco vehicles on fleet, ranging from 3.5-tonne to tractor units - including the UK’s first 65-tonne Iveco Stralis which we bought from Guest at the end of last year.

“The team at Guest was extremely helpful and we’re delighted to be the proud owners of the first Iveco Daily Euro 6 in the UK.”
