Mercedes-Benz Vans has revealed pricing and specifiactions for the new Vito.

The revised model features new engines, new safety equipment and mild cosmetic changes.

The electric eVito Tourer also gets a battery upgrade, extending its range to around 260 miles.

Available as a panel van with three seats, or a crew van with six seats, the Vito comes in three lengths – L1 (4,895mm), L2 (5,140mm), and L3 (5,370mm) with a height of 1,910mm and a choice of three trims – Progressive, Premium, and Sport, which is offered exclusively for the crew van.

Visually, the van looks much the same as it did before. There’s a new grille and some minor interior tweaks.

All rear-wheel-drive Vitos now come with Mercedes’ OM654 2.0-litre diesel engine, which is offered with 136PS, 163PS and 190PS.

The two more powerful units come fitted with a nine-speed auto, while the lower-powered van gets a six-speed manual (the auto is optional).

Fuel economy ranges from 46.3 to 48.7mpg for the new variants.

Front-wheel-drive versions are also available on the entry-level trim, using a smaller 1.7-litre diesel engine with 102PS or 136PS. These models are less efficient, with 43.4-44.1mpg, and only come with a manual transmission.

The Vito Progressive (£22,845 ex VAT) features front fog lamps, headlight assistant, heated and electrically adjustable mirrors, and twin sliding doors as standard. It also has Active Brake Assist, anti-theft package, Crosswind Assist, DAB radio and Apple and Android Car Play integration, as well as reversing camera.

The Vito Premium, priced from £29,550 (ex VAT), includes 17-inch alloy wheels, a chrome radiator grille, metallic paint, Parking Package, colour coded bumpers, electrically folding exterior mirrors, air conditioning and velour floor mats.

For Vito crew customers, the Sport trim is priced from £40,745 (ex VAT). It includes Auto 40 infotainment system with sat nav, DAB and seven-inch colour touchscreen, black leatherette upholstery, heated front seats, sports suspension, AMG side skirts, LED head and tail lamps, roof rails, heated windscreen washers, a larger flue and AdBlue tank, and chrome interior details, as well as identifying bonnet and sill graphics and a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Mercedes PRO connect is integrated as standard across all trim lines, the evolved Vito comes with three years free access to Optimised Assistance giving real-time reports of critical parts and fluids, journey logs, theft warning alerts, live locking from a mobile phone, geofencing, Accident and Breakdown Management, and live traffic information.

Maximum payload now sits at 1,396Kg, clever innovations such as using a plastic floor lining instead of wood helps save 12-15Kg.

There’s a new infotainment system that features Mercedes Pro Connect connected services, plus a digital rear-view mirror that uses a camera mounted on the rear.

Other updates include the addition of adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking.

The eVito Tourer passenger carrier now comes fitted with a 100kWh battery, boosting its available range by 92 miles. Unfortunately, this battery upgrade has not been extended to the panel van version.
