Vauxhall has boosted the specification of the Astra Griffin, which becomes the entry point to the line-up.
The petrol-powered Astra Griffin is priced at £26,090. This represents a saving of £2,775 over the outgoing Astra Design.
The Astra Electric Griffin starts at £35,005, while hybrid models can be had for £28,540.

Despite being cheaper, the Griffin models come with a higher specification than the entry-level Design grade.
Included as standard are tinted rear windows, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless phone charger and rear view camera. The driver’s seat features a highly ergonomic design certified by AGR (Germany’s ‘Campaign for Healthier Backs’).
All Astra models come with adaptive cruise control, LED headlights, alloy wheels, front and rear parking sensors, high beam assist and Vauxhall's Purepanel infotainment and digital instrument cluster display.
The Griffin trim is available on the Astra hatchback with a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that develops 130PS and emits 126g/km of CO2.
It can also be specified on both hatchback and estate versions of the Astra Hybrid and Astra Electric. The Astra Hybrid produces 145PS and has CO2 emissions of 108g/km.
The Astra Electric uses a 156PS motor and has a 54kWh battery pack for a 260-mile (WLTP) range.
