Volkswagen has updated the T-Cross compact SUV with a fresh look, new interior and enhanced specification.

The revised model is available to order now, priced from £23,965.

New bumpers give the car a refreshed appearance, along with redesigned headlights. All versions now come with LED lighting as standard.

The T-Cross's interior has been given a bigger overhaul, with a new dashboard design incorporating a 'floating' infotainment touchscreen. VW has also improved the quality of the car's interior plastics.

An eight-inch display is fitted as standard, paired with a digital instrument cluster. The range-topping T-Cross R Line comes with a 9.2-inch display.

There's seating for five on board and the rear bench can be moved by 140mm for a flexible luggage compartment. When all the seats are occupied, the T-Cross offers a luggage compartment capacity of between 385 and 455 litres when loaded up to the height of the rear bench seat. Folding down the rear bench seat (60:40 split) creates a flat load area with a stowage volume of up to 1,281 litres (up to the height of the front seat backrests).

VW has increased the towbar load of the T-Cross from 55Kg to 75Kg. This increases the maximum load that can act vertically on the optional removable towbar, giving greater scope for towing and carrying loads such as bicycles.

Travel Assist forms part of the standard specification. This system includes adaptive cruise control, which can automatically adjust the car's speed for corners or roundabouts, and lane keep assist to provide an increased level of driver assistance.

The engine line-up from the existing T-Cross has been carried over offering a 1.0-litre TSI petrol unit with 95PS or 115PS and a 1.5-litre with 150PS.
