We are recruiting on behalf of our client, an international contractor who operate within the UK water industry. They specialise in MEICA (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control) engineering and work within a JV partnership with a large civil engineering contractor.
They require a Logistics Manager on a freelance basis to be based primarily from their storage facility in the West Midlands. This role will also involve travel one day per week to their Head Office in Hertfordshire.
Main duties include;
Manage the Just-In-Time deliveries from the Oldbury storage facility to construction sites in North West London
Coordinate the site management teams based in Affinity Water, the storage depot management and the equipment suppliers
Organisation and positioning of the equipment held within the depot to facilitate efficient receipt and dispatch
Maintaining an ongoing record of goods held therein
Carry out quality checks on goods inward and outward, and reporting on non-conformance accordingly
Ensure that the delivered and dispatched goods are compliant with the requirements of the original purchase order and / or subcontract
Goods inward management; supervision of offload, carry out quality checks, complete sign-offs, manage the placement of goods within the depot
Goods outward management; arrangement of lifting as required, arrangement of transport as required, supervision of transport loading (cranage), carry out quality checks, complete sign-offs
Tracking, monitoring and recording of all goods in and good out
Ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental protection are consistently achieved
Ensuring that the that the site team and the project management team are aware of key plant movements
Attendance at project progress meetings Experience required;
Ability to work independently at the storage depot located in the West Midlands. There will also be a requirement to travel to the office in Hertfordshire one day per week
A knowledge of MEICA process plant such that quality checks can be carried out
Ability to communicate effectively with all project stakeholders
Ability to maintain an accurate, auditable record of goods in, goods out and goods held in store
Working knowledge on MS Excel
