OnPoint are currently seeking a Transport Manager to join a well known
haulier based in the Grantham area.

Our client Services is an Operator of 40+ LGVs that operate throughout
the UK and Europe.

The Company is involved in the movement of bulk liquids (Food Grade -
Non-Hazardous), full palletised loads, full flat bed work and smaller
pallet consignments through a pallet network. It also uses
subcontractors to supplement its own fleet. The Company is enjoying a
growth period and improvement of it facilities. Treasure Transport
currently employs around 70 FTEs.

The Transport Manager will effectively and continuously manage the
companies transport activities. They will hold the Company Operators
Licence (International).

The Transport Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited

* Ensure that the drivers understand and work within the legal
regulations in their work

* Ensure that the vehicles are maintained properly, including the
inspection of vehicles at the appropriate time and the action
taken to remedy defects found

* The reporting and recording of vehicle defects by drivers

* The method of compilation and the accuracy of all records, which
must be kept for a period of not less than 15 months

* The making of arrangements to ensure that the vehicle/s are not

* Ensuring that authorised vehicles will be kept at the authorised
operating centre when not in use

* Where appropriate, notifying the relevant Traffic Commissioner (in
writing) of all prosecutions and convictions concerning the
operator, the drivers and himself within 28 days of the court

* Working with the companies BDM to identify opportunities of growth
with both existing and new Customers

* Responsibilities for P&L Reporting

* Seeking continuous improvement in all areas of the division, its
processes and the wider business

* Coaching and appraisals of existing staff

* Identifying training needs of all divisional staff and working
with the training department and HR to achieve the goal

* All related aspects of Health & Safety

* Be hands on in supporting the day to day planning operation as
well as providing cover for holidays and absence

Person Specification - Skills

* Change Management

* Communication

* PC Literate

* Knowledge of TMS programmes

* Knowledge of other transport associated programmes

* Transport law


* International Transport Manager CPC (Essential)

* Supervision & Management

* IOSH or above (desirable)

* C+E Licence (desirable)
