TRANSPORT MANAGER
BUDAPEST/HUNGARY
8,950,000 HUF.

As a TRANSPORT MANAGER you will be of good repute and assist in the day-to-day running of the commercial vehicle fleet. Responsible for ensuring that the Company, and the drivers under its control, meets its legal responsibilities and that the overall administrative activities of the Legal and Compliance department are kept up-to-date. The core competencies for this role are:
* Responsible for ensuring drivers have returned all their tachograph charts and digital downloads within 42 days of their completion and that vehicles fitted with digital units have the data downloaded within 90 days
* All drivers have up-to-date driving licences, smart cards and driver qualification cards and these are checked at least every six months in line with the expiry of their Photo ID cards
* Ensure that Daily Vehicle checks are completed and the defect reporting system is followed
* Ensure Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) are kept up-to-date in conjunction with the Maintenance Divisions
Qualifications / Experience Requirements
* International CPC in Road Haulage Operations
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in the transport industry
Main duties and responsibilities of a TRANSPORT MANAGER:-
* Manage a team of Operation Desk Supervisors in relation to ensuring drivers complete their paperwork correctly with regard to filling out their tachograph record sheets/correct use of driver cards/completion of working time forms/prompt and correct completion of accident reports/agency driver declarations/driver defect reports and other relevant paperwork
* Analyse tachograph record sheets and maintain an effective disciplinary system for drivers that ensures that they observe EU Drivers Hours rules and follow the process of escalating action for repeated non-compliance
* Ensure safety inspections are carried out at the specified intervals and that maintenance records are kept in accordance with the regulations
* Keep reports to include status on the retrieval of tachograph charts and digital downloads both from drivers and vehicles.
* Liaise with driving agencies to ensure tachograph charts and digital data from agency drivers are recovered and that there is an audit trail for this process
* Assist in the induction and training of new drivers
* Provide drivers with photographic ID cards and maintain the database used to produce them
* Where applicable, ensure that vehicles are correctly specified on the operator’s licence and are displaying their operator’s licence identity discs
* Assist with Insurance administration and accident claims including updating of the motor insurance database
* Ensure that Vehicle Excise Duty is renewed on time and that all vehicles have been taxed
* Assist in providing correct documentation for drivers and vehicles when working abroad
* Ensure PCN’s / fines and all other driver / vehicle related offences are dealt prior to fine escalation
* To be commercially aware at all times and able to offer suggestions and solutions to meet contractual demands without compromising road safety or legal responsibilities
