HEREFORD and Worcester Ambulance Service NHS Trust has taken delivery of 31 Fiat Ducato ambulances. Altered by conversion company Devon, 18 of the 2.5 litre diesel-engined Ducatos are on a three-year contract with the Dudley Group of Hospitals NHS Trust and are fitted with two seats in the cab and nine seats for patients when not fitted with a stretcher.

The remaining 13 operate within the Service's 1,515-square-mile area and have a driver's seat and seats for six people and a stretcher. All have the Unwin clamping system for wheelchairs and a Rolac ramp at the rear for ease of access for wheelchairs and stretcher cases. Walking patients' access is via a sliding door.
