VOLKSWAGEN has struck a million-mile a year deal to supply United News Shops with a mixed fleet of Golfs and Polos. The 36 diesel vehicles will between them cover around three million miles during the three-year contract when they will be used by auditors and area managers to shuttle between shops in United's nationwide network.

Supplied through White Arrow Contract Hire, the cars were chosen to replace the existing Vauxhall fleet for their affordability and wholelife-costs.

The company has also renewed its contract with Jackson Training Consultancy to train personnel at 70 specialist fleet dealers nationwide. National fleet sales manager Vince Kinner said the programme had succeeded in giving dealers the confidence to project Volkswagen's fleet proposition in the marketplace.
