LEASE Plan has secured a £2.5 million sale and lease-back deal with mailing machines and paper handling equipment manufacturer Pitney Bowes. Harlow-based Pitney Bowes has sold more than 300 vehicles to Lease Plan as part of the contract, which is set to expand over the next 12 months to include supplying replacement and additional new cars. The contract may also be extended across Europe.

The vehicles will be funded under Lease Plan's Open Calculation scheme and the contract also includes the company's in-house accident management service and its roadside recovery service LP Assist. Pitney Bowes opted for sale and lease-back in recognition of the financial benefits of leasing.
