DAEWOO has furnished upholstery retailer Uno with a fleet of cars - marking the expanding Liverpool-based company's first foray into fleet. The Espero 2.0 CDXis will be driven by the company's regional executives with eight delivered already and a total of 13 expected to be on the fleet by mid-year.

Until now Uno has opted to give senior executives a cash allowance and allowed them to select their own company car but, impressed by the all-round Daewoo package the company decided to move into fleet. Company secretary Tony Dawson said: 'One of our regional managers already drives an Espero and has been extremely impressed with Daewoo, the support package and the level of standard equipment on his car, so we decided to invest in a Daewoo fleet.'

The company specialises in retailing furniture from 10 sites in the UK and expects to open a further four sites this year. Uno is also in line to buy the 32-branch World of Leather company.
