A MAJOR business park has joined the race to encourage blue chip companies to put green commuter plans in place. Stockley Park at Uxbridge, which is home to Glaxo and Panasonic, has issued a draft Green Transport Plan aimed at improving public transport to the site and providing improved cycling and walking facilities.

The initiative includes a contribution of £2 million towards a new station being built at the park and financial support for passenger information systems. Stockley Park Consortium claims to be one of the first developers in the country to propose such a plan and is looking for a sustainable transport co-ordinator to develop and implement the measures in conjunction with occupying businesses, local authorities and public transport providers.
