HAMPSHIRE-based car rental company Martins Selfdrive is claiming business success across the world after launching a site on the internet. The company found becoming part of the internet revolution has been the key to a business boom.

The website (www.bbi.co.uk/martins) was launched five months ago and there have been 5,000 visits in the first three months. General manager Bob Baillie claims the company is now receiving bookings from travellers as far afield as Hong Kong and the United States of America for car hire when they arrive at London airports.

David Goodchild, publisher - electronic development - at Fleet NewsNet, said: 'Internet usage over the last twelve months has increased dramatically with Fleet NewsNet a prime example of this trend. Since its launch in July last year, site accesses have risen from 12,500 to more than 60,000 per month and communication via FNN has increased dramatically. The internet is without doubt becoming a serious business tool.'
