COMPANY car and van drivers are being targeted by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents as the police begin their annual Christmas drink-drive crackdown. A week after the Government unveiled the £2 million annual campaign, RoSPA claims that 'a Christmas drink could cost you your job'.

In urging companies which offer hospitality to play a responsible part in cutting road casualties the society claims 25% of Britain's annual 3,600 road deaths are linked with people driving as part of their job. It claims that during the Christmas period about 45 people a day are likely to be killed or injured in drink-drive accidents, many involving people driving for work.
