DUAL-fuel gas-powered Peugeot 306 and 406 models are to go on sale in the UK next spring. The French factory-produced cars are on sale in Belgium, France and Italy on the strength of significant Government-inspired fiscal incentives.

And while Peugeot believes diesel power is the future, the manufacturer says it will make the liquefied petroleum/ petrol-engined cars available in the UK. Despite promising competitive pricing, fleet and leasing director John Taylor said: 'LPG as a day-to-day fuel is not practical until people can fill up at most fuel stations. Peugeot has sold factory-produced LPG models across Europe for many years so it makes sense to make them available in the UK.'
