THE change of emphasis at the Fleet Show to concentrate on the business-making potential rather than an opportunity to drive new cars has led Peugeot to put its name firmly behind this year's event. Peugeot is just the latest in a number of big name companies to sign up in the last seven days for the show, which is being held at the Birmingham NEC from Tuesday, April 27 to Thursday, April 29.

David Brookman, Peugeot's director of sales, said: 'It's true we have had reservations about the Fleet Show in the past and have been intermittent exhibitors, because we always felt the ride-and-drive aspect was misconceived. But we decided to exhibit this year because it has a new format which will give us a superb opportunity to launch our newly-revised 406s in the best possible showcase setting at the NEC. If people want to drive our cars, they can do that at any time and at their own convenience. Peugeot maintains a sizeable fleet of demonstrators specifically for that purpose.'
