BRITISH Car Auctions is expanding its European network with a new purpose-built centre in Spain. Scheduled to open in the spring, BCA Autosubastas Espana will feature a 300-car undercover viewing area, purpose-built auction hall with tiered seating, cafeteria and function suites and a separate vehicle registration facility.

The site, on the main N11 motorway between Madrid and Guadalajara, will also feature the complete range of electronic remarketing facilities and a separate dedicated BCA Smart Prepared area offering services including paintless dent removal, upholstery repair and brushless paint technology. BCA Europe chairman and chief executive, Tom Gibson, said: 'Together with BCA Autoleiloes in Portugal, the new venture will provide representation on the Iberian peninsula, further strengthening our presence on mainland Europe.'

The opening of the new site is the first in a planned programme of development in Spain - the fifth largest automotive market in Europe with a car parc of 13 million. The Spanish centre joins 11 other BCA Europe sites on the continent, located in Germany, Norway, Belgium, Denmark, Holland and Portugal.
