LAND Rover has recalled 10,000 Discovery and Defender TD5 diesels, produced between September 1998 and June 1999, because of an engine problem, along with 1,300 Discovery Series 2 V8s to replace a idler pulley.

Tests have shown the possibility of failure in the TD5's flywheel assembly. The V8s are being recalled after a 'handful' of pulleys snapped.
