BUILDING society and estate agency Bradford & Bingley has whittled down its preferred list of four vehicle suppliers for its 2,100-strong fleet to two - Peugeot and Ford. The move is part of a fleet policy standardisation which has led to more than 1,400 employees joining the Whitechapel structured personal leasing scheme under which staff technically own their company cars.

Drivers use the money they save from benefit-in-kind tax to fund, at preferential rates, the monthly payments on their vehicles under the scheme, which is funded by Corporate Services, a subsidiary of First National Vehicle Holdings. Bradford & Bingley expects the Whitechapel scheme to save it £1.5 million.
