Explorer in Firestone tyre recall

FORD is offering free replacement tyres for UK vehicles fitted with Firestone Wilderness all-terrain tyres following safety concerns in the United States. The company estimates the tyres could be fitted to 6,000 Ford Explorers built before 1999, as well as a few unofficial imports.

Although Ford Ranger pick-up trucks have also been involved in the US recall, all Rangers officially imported into Britain Rangers are built in Thailand.
