Lupo aims for new fuel record

A VOLKSWAGEN Lupo is aiming to break the economy record for driving around Britain which has stood since 1991. The Lupo 3L TDI, on sale in mainland Europe, records 94mpg on the combined cycle, and its team is confident of smashing the Guinness Book of Records Round Britain Economy Drive which currently stands at 103.01mpg. Team leader Dr Shigeru Miyano has already achieved an average figure of more than 106mpg for the Lupo in tests.
