MFL cars go under the hammer in Northern Ireland

WILSON'S Auctions Group has held its first dedicated Motability Finance (MFL) auction of the year, after being appointed sole remarketing agent for all MFL cars in Northern Ireland from the start of 2002.

The Belfast-based auction group has a contract to collect, manage, refurbish and sell all de-fleeted Motability vehicles. The auction of 250 cars was attended by more than 100 bidders, and the cars achieved 99% of CAP Clean with a conversion rate of 85%.

Peter Johnston, operations director for Wilson's Auctions Group, said: 'Due to the diversity of vehicles now being offered on the Motability scheme the return units provide excellent retail opportunities.

'We have up to now been selling MFL vehicles in 'combination auctions' with like vendors such as the Leasing Group, Ford Options and BMW Financial Services.

'Due to the anticipated increased volumes of MFL vehicles in the coming months, we will be holding regular MFL 'closed sales.'
