LIVERPOOL Football Club employees will never 'walk alone' in future. They will be driving in their plush new Jaguars instead.

The world famous football club has signed a two-and-a-half year full maintenance contract hire deal with Bank of Scotland Business Banking Vehicle Management division to take up to 25 Jaguars, with many of the cars built at the local Halewood Plant, and supplied by local dealer Jaguar House.

Rick Parry, chief executive of Liverpool Football Club, said: 'As a top flight club, we need to convey an image that reflects quality and success.

'The bank's convenient and cost-effective funding package and its relationship with Jaguar Cars enabled us to achieve this and also support business within the local community.'

Backroom staff including stand-in manager Phil Thompson will replace their current Mercedes-Benz with a selection of XJ, XK, S and X-types over the next 12 months.
