Lucky few clamour for Ford's stunning GT

FORD is to import 101 GTs into Europe from next year.

The number is the same as the original volume of Ford GTs officially produced by Ford in Europe through the lifetime of the original model in the 1960s.

So far 2,150 customers across Europe have registered their intestest via a website. They will now be sent an application form to take the next step towards purchase.

Only a lucky few of those registered will be able to buy the car as Ford is operating a strict vetting procedure.

UK and European prices of the left-hand-drive only 500bhp Ford GT will be announced closer to its official import in 2004. In the US, it is expected to cost just under $150,000.
