Death driver jailed

A VAN driver who killed a pedestrian with a plank of wood which was sticking out of the side of his vehicle has been jailed for 18 months for causing death by dangerous driving.

Karl Totterdell, a builder, was sentenced by Bristol Crown Court. The man who died was walking to a health and safety meeting when the accident occurred.
