Plumbing firm 'sinks' money into van tracking

A PLUMBING company has installed satellite tracking systems in its 120-strong fleet.

West Midlands-based Superior Plumbing Installations can now track its engineers in real time after placing an order for the Fleetstar-Online systems with Cybit. The company believes installing such systems will enable better control over its fleet resulting in more efficient management, time savings and reduced fuel bills.

SPI financial director Barry Cooke said: 'Our primary motivation is to improve efficiency and customer service and achieve a rapid return on our investment. Cybit's Fleetstar-Online solution represents an excellent opportunity to improve the manageability and visibility of our mobile workforce. We've been impressed by the ability to provide fleet information from anywhere with an internet connection.'

Cybit's director of field sales operations, Simon Rowland, said: 'Service management and engineering companies increasingly want to track their mobile workforce. Fleetstar-Online will give SPI a real return on investment relatively early on in implementation. Because the service is accessed over the internet, the advanced tracking and reporting functionality is available anytime, anywhere.'
