TWO wheels replaced the usual four on the auction floor at a recent sale at BCA Belle Vue.

Fleet and finance vendors used the special motorbike sale to de-fleet 77 machines, many of which were entered on behalf of the Bank of Scotland.

BCA reported hundreds of buyers attending from all over the country and competitive bidding, resulting in more than 90% of the entry sold and strong prices achieved. Top value on the day went to a 2003-registered Honda VTR 1000 that sold for £5,550.

Overall, the sale averaged 100% of CAP clean, a figure BCA claimed as outstanding, as several 'non-runners' were included in the sale.

Tom Madden, BCA's director, customer affairs, said: 'This specialised area of the business generates an amazing amount of buyer support. There are few other opportunities to come and buy motorcycles at auction with such a wide choice on offer.'

Sale highlights included:

  • 03/03 Kawasaki ZX9 Ninja (1,751 miles), £4,600 (108% CAP clean)
  • 02/02 Yamaha Dragstar 125 (2,529 kms), £1,700 (121%)
  • 01/51 Yamaha Aerox 50 (2,905 miles), £725 (142%)
  • 01/51 Benelli K2 (4,300 miles), £650 (135%).
