Prius praised for greenest car rating

THE Environment Agency has given the Toyota Prius top marks on its lease car list for environmental performance.

It evaluates the full range of exhaust emissions, not just CO2, and only those vehicles with a score below a pre-determined cut-off point were included in the scheme. Toyota executives said the Prius achieved the lowest score.

The manufacturer has supplied 15 Prius vehicles to the Environment Agency and 13 more are on order.
