Describe your fleet?

I have 140 vans, seven HGVs and eight pool cars. They are funded through a mix of outright purchase, sale and leaseback and contract hire.

What is your fleet history?

I worked for Devon County Council in the fleet department and was at South West Water for seven years before coming here 18 months ago.

Are there many differences to running a public sector fleet compared with a private one?

The political aspect which can make the implementation of some decisions challenging.

What was your first job after school?

I worked in countryside management on an estate in France. Other jobs have included selling cars and working in a vodka cocktail bar in Hong Kong.

What do you enjoy about the job?

Most things. I’ve always got a buzz from working in transport so I consider myself fortunate to do something I really enjoy.

Where is your favourite holiday destination?

France. I lived there for two years and enjoy the pace of life as well as the food.
