The market for used commercial vehicles is ‘exceptionally bullish’ at the moment for all ages of vehicles, thanks in part to Polish plumbers.
According to George Alexander, chief commercial vehicle editor, writing in April Glass’s Guide, the market is being driven from the ‘bottom up’, where older vans are proving popular, which is then having a positive effect on prices across all age groups. Normally, strong used prices are driven from healthy new sales.
But the government’s immigration policy is influencing the market, thanks to the thousands of foreign workers from the EU looking for vehicles.
Mr Alexander said: ‘With there now being a vast pool of artisan workers needing a cheap set of wheels to allow them to get on and work, this proved to be the perfect kick-start for sales of older vans.’
