Settling in – Tamsin Reed

How are you settling in?

Tamsin Reed, account development manager – north-west, Thrifty Car & Van Rental

How was your first week?

Very enjoyable. It was refreshing to be working alongside people who are willing to help you as much as they can and who are very happy in their jobs.

How does your new role vary from your last job at BT?

Thrifty has a very different sales environment and ethos. The focus here is entirely on customer service. Our customers have a wide choice of rental companies to choose from so there’s no room for complacency.

What are you working on at the moment?

I am trying to find large accounts with a good business profile.

How is the rental business changing?

Businesses need to review their own expenditure much more closely right now and are acutely focused on value for money.

What is your favourite aspect of your job?

Winning a new business account – especially from a competitor.

What is your favourite restaurant?

Fuegos, which is a Mexican restaurant where I live. They do the best tapas.
