Alfa Romeo has announced a new sporty hatchback – the Mi.To.

Taking styling queues from the recent 8C Competizione supercar, the Mi.To promises a driver-focused experience with motorists able to alter the car’s character depending on the situation.

Three different vehicle behaviour modes – Dynamic, Normal and All-Weather – can be selected, each of which change the settings on the engine, brakes, steering, suspension and gearbox.

A range of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines will be offered when the car hits UK roads early next year, ranging in power from 90 to 155bhp, and more powerful powerplants will become available later on.

Alfa’s VDC stability system will be available as standard, and the car has been designed to do well in EuroNCAP crash tests.

More details will be unveiled later in the year.
