Online remarketing company Autorola has appointed three new business development managers (BDMs) to help grow the business in the UK over the next five years.

Autorola’s three new recruits will help build volumes to nearer 50,000 in the UK and group sales volumes to 500,000 across Europe by 2016.

Hilton Austin joins Autorola from Conrico International, where he was responsible for establishing dealer networks for Fiat and Volvo in the Caribbean. Austin will concentrate on further growth in the dealer segment, one which Autorola is already well established.

David Stanley joins Autorola having spent years working in a variety of key account roles within both Lloyds TSB Autolease and Carillion. Autorola views contract hire as a major development area and Stanley will be tasked with fine tuning its product range and delivering growth.

The third BDM is Jon Mitchell who will be working in building Autorola’s presence in the Manufacturer, OEM and rental sectors. Mitchell is an experienced Key account manager having held roles with the Yell Group, Masterlease and Enterprise.

Autorola MD, Richard Pay says 2011 will be 'the tipping point' for online vehicle sales: "The key to this growth will be the growing confidence among dealers to buy used cars online as the quality of the supporting material provided by vendors," he said. "All the professional vendors are spending time and money in improving every element of their sales proposition and provenance.”

Autorola offers peace of mind, by providing complete financial transparency to both buyer and vendor. “Funds are held in 'escrow' accounts and only released when the buyer has got their car and are happy with how it was described online," said Pay.
