Civica and GreenRoad have announced a partnership to help organisations reduce maintenance costs, fuel spend and minimise accidents.

Using GreenRoad standard interfaces, Civica’s Tranman can now incorporate GreenRoad driver performance information to help fleet managers understand the impact of high-risk driving on vehicle maintenance parts such as brake pads, discs, shoes, drums and consumables such as tyres.

An online dashboard will help identify where cost savings can be made through a more proactive approach to driver performance.

Newport Transport will be the first customer to benefit from the integration between the two systems.

Scott Pearson, managing director of Newport Transport, said: “When our drivers are green we can see that we are using fewer parts - reducing the parts manufacture and transport that contribute to our CO2 emissions.”

The GreenRoad open integration platform aims to help customers such as Newport Transport maximise the value of their GreenRoad-generated data.

It provides a set of standard interfaces that enable integration of GreenRoad data and capabilities with customers’ internal enterprise safety, productivity and fleet management systems as well as fleet vendor and mobile resource management (MRM) solutions.

“Combining these two market leading applications will deliver a greater value for customers of both GreenRoad and Civica,” said Matt Goodstadt, sales director at Civica Tranman.

“The accuracy of mileage records and information on braking incidents will significantly improve the effectiveness of maintenance scheduling and ultimately reduce the costs of consumables such as tyres and brakes.”
