Chargemaster, operators of the privately funded POLAR national electric vehicle (EV)
charging point network, has announced that it will be providing charging posts for the wide range
of EVs participating in the Oxford to London ‘Eco Rally’ this Saturday, 18 August 2012.

Oxford, the starting point of the Rally, has one of the highest densities of charging points
anywhere in Europe thanks to the network of 64 POLAR charging points. All of these sites
provide the ability to fast charge suitably equipped cars at a rate over twice as fast as
standard charging.

David Martell, Chargemaster’s chief executive, commented: “We are very excited to be
providing the charging points to the wide range of vehicles taking part in the Eco Rally this
weekend. The Rally has a long history of showcasing the future of transport, not in the UK,
but from around the world and providing a platform for the public to view just how easy it is to
charge and drive an EV as well as what fun it is.”

The Eco Rally starts at 8.00am on Saturday 18th August, with a Pit Stop held at the Ace Café
London between 10.00 and 12.00 and finishes at Waterloo Place, London between 14.00
and 18.00.
