Škoda has introduced sub-100g/km versions of the Rapid hatchback and Fastback, priced from £17,195.

Both are powered by a 90hp 1.6-litre TDI diesel engine linked to a five-speed manual transmission. The result is emissions of just 99g/km and an official combined cycle fuel economy of 74.3mpg.

With BIK values of 14% the pair are expected to prove popular with fleet and corporate customers.

Both cars come with 15-inch ‘Carme’ alloy wheels with low rolling resistance tyres, front fog lights and sunset glass. Inside there is a height-adjustable driver’s seat, air-conditioning and a Maxi-dot trip computer, as well as heated door mirrors, height-adjustable head rests and reach-and-rake adjustable steering wheel.

The Škoda Rapid GreenLine is priced at £17,535 on the road, while the Rapid Spaceback GreenLine is £17,195. The duo are available to order now, with first customer deliveries expected early in 2014.
