Adam Chamberlain has been appointed sales director for Mercedes-Benz Cars, as the premium brand continues to build upon its sales growth and exciting new model line-up.  Chamberlain takes up his new position in mid-April.

Chamberlain will report to Gary Savage, managing director, Mercedes-Benz Cars, who said: “It’s a really exciting time for Adam to join Mercedes-Benz and be a significant part of our continued sales growth.

“Last year was record-breaking for Mercedes-Benz Cars, and in 2013 we are launching even more exciting products - from the stunning CLA four-door coupé to the new E-Class family, additional high performance AMGs – and plenty more.  I’m looking forward to working with Adam as he plays a key part in ensuring we continue to build momentum and continue our success into the future.”

Chamberlain replaces Mike Whittington, who was promoted to managing director Mercedes-Benz Retail Group Limited in January 2013.  Chamberlain brings with him a wealth of automotive experience, holding management positions across Fiat Group Automobiles and Volkswagen Group, most recently as sales director for Fiat Group Autos UK.

Commenting on his new role, Chamberlain explained: “I am delighted to be joining the team at Mercedes-Benz UK, and helping to continue to drive the company’s sales volumes upwards.  The company has great products and a great network, and it’s a challenge I’m going to relish.”

Marcus Breitschwerdt, president and ceo Mercedes-Benz UK, commented: “Adam completes the line-up for our senior passenger car team, all of whom are dedicated to continued significant growth across our UK business.

“That means growth in sales, growth in the number of new customers choosing Mercedes-Benz, and growth in the high levels of service and support we offer all Mercedes-Benz owners and drivers.”
