Audi has revised its engines used in the Audi A4 to make them EU6-compliant.

The 2.0-litre TFSI has received a power boost from 211bhp to 225bhp, with lower CO2 emissions of 155g/km (compared to 159g/km) and a reduction in fuel consumption from 40.4mpg to 42.2mpg. Top speed has been increased from 152mph to an electronically limited 155mph while 0.1 of a second has been shaved off the 0-62 time, down to 6.4 seconds.

The 143bhp diesel has been boosted to 150bhp while other engines in the range have all benefited from revisions to comply with forthcoming 2014 EU6 emissions limits.

The changes come at the same time as the standard specification of the SE Technik derivative is boosted, with 18-inch alloys and metallic paint now standard.

OTR prices for the SE Technik saloon start from £24,960, while the Avant is available from £26,260.
