Audi has applied some major technical updates to its flagship electric e-tron GT model, as part of a facelift.
Pricing for the car has been updated, thanks to the introduction of a new entry-level models, and now starts at £88,555.
As a fully electric car, all variants of the e-tron GT attract a 3% benefit-in-kind (BiK) tax rate for company car drivers.
The four-door coupe is available in four different models, which all offer a substantial power and and range increase.
Battery capacity has increased to 97kWh (useable), enabling a range of up to 384 miles. Audi says the new unit is also lighter than the battery previously used.
Charging speeds have also been boosted. The e-tron GT now supports 320kW charging and, more crucially, can sustain higher charging speeds for longer. At a suitable charging point, 174 miles of range can be added in 10 minutes.
The entry-level e-tron GT Quattro is priced from £88,555. It has a 584PS power output and offers the longest range of the line-up, at 384 miles. Acceleration from 0-62mph takes 4.0 seconds.
A new S e-tron GT provides an enhanced power output of 680PS from the car's two electric motors, allowing a 0-62mph acceleration time of 3.4 seconds. The range is up to 374 miles and pricing starts at £107,825.
The RS e-tron GT is available from £126,425. It has a power output of 856PS and a 0-62mph sprint time of 2.8 seconds. It has a range of 365 miles.
A new range topping RS e-tron GT Performance model produces 925PS and has a 364-mile range. In this version the 0-62mph time falls to just 2.5 seconds. Pricing starts at £142,925.
All variants of the e-tron GT now use adaptive air suspension. A more advanced active suspension system is fitted to range-topping Vorsprung models. There is also a four-wheel steering system.
Styling changes have been kept to a minimum, retaining the car's distinctive looks. On the inside there's a new steering wheel and enhancements have been made to the car's virtual cockpit display.
Standard equipment includes Matrix LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, electrically adjustable and heated front seats, keyless entry and a heat pump.
The equipment list for the RS e-tron GT includes Nappa leather upholstery, a seat massage function, and night vision assistant.
As an optional additional upgrade, a technically advanced panoramic glass roof is available. Unlike previous materials, the panoramic roof’s smart glass minimises direct sunlight and turns opaque at the touch of a button. This is accomplished through so-called polymer-dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) technology, which can change from transparent to opaque.
The new Audi e-tron GT models are avalable now.
