TR Fleet appoints BVRLA's John Lewis as non-executive director

Fleet consultancy specialist, TR Fleet, has appointed John Lewis as non-executive director.

John’s experience within the fleet management industry spans three decades, with senior positions covering both cars and commercial vehicles. He has spent the last 13 years as Chief Executive of the industry trade body, The British Vehicle Rental & Leasing Association.

A champion of work-related road safety, John chaired the Department for Transport (DfT) funded “Driving for Better Business” programme and led various studies including a report into the potential use of Intelligent Speed Adaptation in both reducing vehicle accidents and pollution. During this time he was also a trustee of road safety charity “Roadsafe”.

John is currently a member of the DfT advisory group “The Motorists’ Forum”, a member of the board of the Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership and a member of the RAC Foundation “Public Policy Committee”.

Commenting on the appointment, managing director Julie Summerell said: “We are delighted to announce the appointment of John Lewis as non-executive director.

“John has a wealth of industry experience and has worked with policy makers at the highest level. His particular focus on road safety and accident reduction will be invaluable as we continue to realise our vision to revolutionise current fleet practices and drive better business decisions through our bespoke risk management programme, DriveSecure.”

John added: “I look forward to supporting the team at TR Fleet in developing the DriveSecure concept as the future for the risk management of business drivers and the contribution this can make to improving work related road safety.”
