Fix Auto Pontypridd is now open for business following a three-month redevelopment and more than £300,000 investment to transform a disused industrial unit.

The new state-of-the-art repair centre has already been nominated as an approved repairer for a prestigious vehicle manufacturer - before a single vehicle has rolled through its doors.

Owner Steve Peart (pictured) said: “While we can’t name the manufacturer until all the audits have been completed, it will be a great addition to our group list of manufacturer approved status.

“Opening this fourth site marks the start of this latest chapter for the business, it is an incredibly exciting time for us and I am extremely proud of what we’re all achieving.”

The showpiece in the 10,500 square foot technical centre is a bespoke-designed moveable spray booth equipped with both UV and IR drying systems which encompasses five working bays.

This sits alongside a conventional fixed spraybooth and an array of the latest equipment.

Known as Fix Auto Pontypridd, the new site will be managed by Lee Wallbank, aged 28.

It is situated north of Cardiff, three miles from the M4 and next to the A470 and  strategically placed to service the surrounding Welsh valleys.

Operating alongside existing bodyshops - Fix Auto Cardiff, Fix Auto Swansea and the Fastfix Cardiff Same Day Repair Centre  -  the Pontypridd development is integral to Fix Auto’s expansion in the region.

When fully operational, the group will have the ability to serve insurers and motorists in the South Wales area by repairing around 1,000 vehicles per month.
