Škoda is targeting increased sales in the Motability sector during 2014, adding a number of new models.

This follows a growth last year where the vehicle manufacturer saw a 116% rise in demand through the scheme compared to the previous 12 calendar months.

Škoda is seeking to further increase its presence in the Motability segment by engaging with a greater number of motorists on both a local and national level.

Each of Škoda's 134 retailers has specially trained to provide assistance to Motability customers across its UK sites.

They will also be on hand at the Motability Scheme’s One Big Day regional events across the country where suitable models are showcased to buyers. Motability will also be more prominent both in Škoda’s showrooms and on the vehicle manufacturer’s website.

Andy Thomas, rental and Motability manager at Škoda UK, said: "The Motability Scheme forms an important part of our strategy to increase market share in the fleet sector during 2014. We are looking to continue last year’s success thanks to the growing awareness of the numerous benefits that our cars bring.

"Škoda’s full model range provides all-important space, versatility and an abundance of technology, designed to provide an enjoyable and comfortable experience for drivers and passengers.

"The addition of the new Rapid Spaceback and updated Yeti to the scheme further reinforces our practical and affordable offering for Motability customers."
