BCA's on-going partnership with the AA will see over 250,000 vehicles inspected under the BCA Assured brand this year.

This takes the volume to nearly 600,000 vehicles since 2012 which represents one of the biggest inspection partnerships in the UK motor industry.

BCA Assured provides peace of mind to buyers by providing a report on a 30 point independent mechanical check carried out by the AA.  The check includes an onsite drive to test brakes, warning lights, tyre depths, engine noise, gearbox check, vehicle suspension and fluid levels.  AA inspectors are based at BCA’s centres nationwide and reports are uploaded instantaneously into the BCA database.

The report appears in digital catalogues on the BCA website and a printed copy is available with the vehicle when it is sold.  Cars under 8 years and 120,000 miles are eligible for the programme, with LCVs added last year in conjunction with BCA’s award-winning Commercial Video Appraisal service.

Buyers have up to 48 hours or 500 miles to inform BCA if the vehicle they purchased does not match the report it was sold with.  BCA will rectify faults on any vehicles that are misreported and in extreme circumstances provide a full refund.

Sellers using BCA Assured have reported improved residual values, with an average uplift in excess of 1% being recorded each quarter for the last 2 years when compared to a similar basket of vehicles without the inspection report.  Buyer confidence is improved significantly for online bidders, who have another layer of information alongside the catalogue information, digital images or video, vehicle grading and BCA’s own condition appraisal.

BCA’s UK operations director Simon Henstock said: “BCA Assured provides peace of mind for private customers and another level of product confidence for trade buyers.  Sellers can generate an even stronger following for their brand at BCA by using BCA Assured to create a high degree of transparency for the vehicles they sell.  It’s just one more way BCA is easier to do business with.”
