Avis offers cross-border in car Wi-Fi service

Avis Car Rental is launching a mobile Wi-Fi service across 12 markets in Europe.

Avis UK customers will have access to 1GB per day internet access for £8.50 per day.

The mobile Wi-Fi unit means users can connect up to five devices, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other Wi-Fi enabled devices, at any one time. Its compact, portable design means it can be taken out of the car, to the hotel, conference or business meeting – all with uninterrupted connectivity.

With Avis mobile Wi-Fi, customers now have cross-border connectivity, with no roaming charges.

“Every year 6.78 million business people make a trip abroad from UK airports to attend that all-important meeting or seal a business deal, so being able to stay connected is an essential part of any business trip,” said Mark Servodidio, managing director at Avis UK.

“With approximately £4.2 billion spent by European business travellers in 2012 just on connectivity, we wanted to make people’s lives easier, and give our customers a cost-effective, seamless experience from door to door, and a convenient way of staying connected – not just whilst they are in the car.”
