The new A6 saloon and Avant e-hybrid Quattro models will be available in the UK with a 299PS powertrain capable of an electric-only driving range of up to 64 miles.

Both variants go on sale in early June with Sport, S line and Edition 1 trim levels priced from £60,980. They will be in the 9% benefit-in-kind tax band for 2025/26.

Customer deliveries will begin later this summer.

The PHEV powertrain uses a 25.9kWh battery, around 45% larger than the battery in the previous generation PHEV.

Maximum AC charging power is 11kW, which means that it takes from two-and-a-half hours to charge from empty to full.

Recuperation performance has also been improved. Three levels of regeneration can be selected using paddles on the steering wheel.

The A6 e-hybrid runs on electric power for as long as possible to utilise the available battery charge, and recovers energy automatically when this function is activated.

Two operating modes are available. In  EV mode, the models run solely on battery power, while in hybrid mode, the hybrid management system maintains a specific charge level as needed in order to save enough electricity for later use.

The A6 e-hybrid range also features all-wheel steering, all-wheel drive, while Audi says suppression of noise in the cabin has been improved by up to 30% compared to the previous model through enhancements such as more tightly sealed windows and optimised door seals.
